Black & White photography or monochrome has always been my passion. For about severn years I only used black and white film and used a darkroom to print a range of fine art images on different papers to create a series of prints. As digital photography has become more popular most people are now using digital files to produce black and white prints with inkjet printers. I still use film but have slowly moved over to the benefits of digital capture. Adobe lightroom has made making a monochrome conversions allot easier. The workshop will help you learn how to produce monochrome black & white prints and toning techniques. You will learn how to control contrast and lighting within your images. The final output will be discussed and a range of options will be open to you from Inkjet, platinum, silver gelatine, or negative for alternative processes.
If you are a keen amateur photographer or professional photographer this workshop will help you move from film to digital and gain rather than loose control over your monochrome images. You can choose any subject you like from landscapes, portraits, still life or action images. If you are still a keen black and white film user and want to work in a darkroom I will be starting a fine art black and white course soon. Contact me for more details.
